How to Submit

At the Res, we want to make sure that our submission process is simple to use and available to all. That being said, we have multiple ways to submit your work for consideration by the Editors!

1. Look for our flyers in-school. Every month we plan to print and put up flyers around the school, announcing that we are accepting submissions for our next issue. These posters will have a QR Code on them that you can scan with your phone. The code will bring you to a Google Form, from which you can submit your piece.

2. Use our email. The Reservoir Journal email is perhaps the easiest way to submit to the Reservoir Journal. Simply send us an email with a doc, link, or pdf of your piece (docs are preferred for writing). Do not include your name anywhere on the piece itself, as all submissions are read blind by the Editors. However, please do give us the following in the email:

  • Your name

  • Your grade (optional)

  • If you are submitting a piece of art or photography, please give us a little background about the piece. Where it was taken, when, why, anything you deem significant to the work.

  • The title of the work, if it is not included in the doc/link/pdf already (for all submissions; can be placed in the subject line).

  • If you would like to remain anonymous or write under a pen name, please let us know, and indicate your pen name.

  • Include the genre(s) you are submitting to (for writing only).

3. If you cannot use/access either of these methods, talk to one of our Editors in school. If you do not know who we are, you can use our school emails (lastname.firstname@scituateschoolsri.net) to contact us. If you can't upload a pdf of your artwork, you may give us a physical copy, and we will take a picture of it to upload.

If you are having trouble with any of the above methods or want to submit in a different way, please contact up separately by email, or talk to us in-school. Thank you again for considering the Res as a space for your work, we look forward to sharing your creativity with the community.
